In seminar room R113 at Lerchenfeld there is a ceiling-mounted projector with speakers. The system can be used to project an image onto the wall via HDMI. Proceed as follows:
1. Get the fabric bag with the remote from Pforte
Pick up the fabric bag for R113 Le from the reception desk at the main entrance Lerchenfeld 2. The bag should be labeled R113 and should contain a remote control that is also labeled R113.
2. Power on the Projector
Take the remote control out of the bag and point it at the projector on the ceiling. Press the red power button at the top left (1) on the remote control. If the LED (2) on the remote control does not light up when you press the power button, the batteries are empty. Contact building services or media technology to obtain 2× AAA batteries.
When the projector is turned on, the audio system will also automatically turn on. The projector should already be correctly configured; there is no reason to change any settings. If a problem occurs, it is very likely caused either by the connection cable or by the connected device (laptop, etc.). If that is the case, please read the article Common Issues: Connecting a Laptop via HDMI.
3. Connecting the Laptop
At the base of the projection area there is an HDMI connection socket labeled HDMI zu Beamer. Connect the laptop to this socket using an HDMI cable (use a suitable adapter if necessary). Make sure that the laptop is configured so that the display is extended or mirrored to the external display (=projector). Also make sure that the correct audio output device is selected so that the laptop sends the sound via HDMI (otherwise the sound will come from the laptop speakers).
If no HDMI cable is available, please contact the media technology department of the HFBK. Leave the HDMI cable on site and report any visible damage.
The projector should display the image automatically. If not, it is very likely caused either by the connection cable or by the connected device (laptop, etc.).
If that is the case, please read the article Common Issues: Connecting a Laptop via HDMI.4. Laser pointer
The remote control has a built-in laser pointer that can be used as a pointing aid during presentations. To use it, hold down the orange button with the laser symbol (4) and point the laser at the desired location. Avoid shining the laser into anyone’s eyes. The laser is weak, but eye damage can still occur.
After the seminar
When you are finished, leave the HDMI cable on site. Turn off the projector using the green button (3) at the top right of the remote control. This will automatically shut everything down. Put the remote control back into the fabric bag and return it directly to the reception desk.
